The Elwha RV Park is the ideal basecamp for Olympic National Park, Victoria BC, and the Pacific Coast beaches. The lower Elwha River trailhead and former dam site begin steps from your site. The Olympic Discovery Trail is just up the road, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca is five minutes away.
A crystal-clear, 12-mile glacier-carved lake 17 miles west of Port Angeles. Swim, boat, and fish, hike the mostly level mile to Marymere Falls through moss-covered trees and ferns, climb the Pyramid Mountain Trail for sweeping views, or follow the historic Spruce Railroad Trail along the north shore. Picnic by the water or dine at Lake Crescent Lodge and Log Cabin Resort.
Catch the Black Ball Ferry to Victoria, BC in under ninety minutes. Walk Ediz Hook's 5.5-mile Waterfront Trail for panoramic Olympic and Cascade views, or watch the ferries roll in from the harbor lookout.
The crown jewel of Olympic National Park. An easy alpine drive delivers you to glacier-clad peaks, panoramic Strait views and meadows of wildflowers. Pack a picnic, hike from easy strolls to all-day ridge lines, then stay for sunset.
Wind 12 miles through old-growth valley to the Salmon Cascades and Ancient Forest Trail. Soak tired muscles in the Sol Duc mineral pools, then walk the short, jaw-dropping trail to Sol Duc Falls and onward into Seven Lakes Basin.
Step into one of the largest temperate rainforests on Earth. Moss-draped maples, fern carpets and the Hall of Mosses make this a contemplative day trip from Elwha — or a long weekend out toward the Pacific beaches.
The trailhead to the lower Elwha and the former dam site begins right at the park. Drive the Elwha Valley Road, hike to Madison Falls, and chase the river up to the Olympic Hot Springs trailhead beyond Lake Mills.
Saltwater and freshwater fishing draw anglers from across the country. Public boat ramps, tide pools, wildlife refuges and ferry rides — all within easy reach.
